I guess you could say that William Shatner is attempting to boldly go where no other man has gone before. Shatner has not only started a company to create a custom futuristic steampunk motorcycles, but he also plans to take a cross-country trip on the bike in order to promote the brand later this year.
In a Facebook post announcing the venture, Shatner had this to say:
"Excited about my partnership with American Wrench in forming Rivet Motors. This is the cycle of the future."
The company is describing the Rivet as "a machine as distinguished and iconic as the man himself." Gotta love it.
This all came about after Shatner, who is a well known motorcycle lover, met someone from American Wrench at an autograph signing who suggested the actor have a custom bike built. Cut to Shatner meeting with Kevin Sirotek, vice-president of parent company Illinois Auto Electric, and the deal to make the Rivet was on.
